What is a birth doula?
A birth doula recognizes and understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a birthing person. The doula will assist the birth person and partner in preparing for and carrying out their birth plans. A birth doula stays by the side of the laboring person throughout the entire labor. The birth doula provides physical, emotional, and evidence based information.
